About Us
Diani Building Corp. traces its roots back to 1949, when A.J. Diani Construction was founded by Mr. A.J. Diani, a World War II Navy Construction Battalion veteran. The son of Swiss immigrants, “AJ” spent his early years on a dairy farm in California’s Santa Maria Valley, where he learned the value of hard work and perseverance. Guided by his dedication to quality and client satisfaction, the company grew steadily, building a strong reputation in general engineering, general building construction, and environmental remediation.
In 2005, the company reorganized into a family of corporations—the Diani Companies—to better serve its clients through specialized expertise. The following year, its highway operations division was sold to Granite Construction Company, allowing the Diani Companies to focus on areas where they could deliver the most value: design-build projects, construction management, general building construction, environmental remediation and restoration, and landfill operations.
Throughout our history, we have upheld the legacy of Mr. Diani—maintaining an unwavering commitment to meeting our clients’ production schedules, budgets, quality, and safety goals. Our success has always been rooted in strong relationships with clients, project partners, regulatory agencies, and the communities we serve.
In 2025 Diani Building Corp. entered an exciting new chapter, becoming an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. This transition means our employees are now invested not only in the projects we deliver, but in the long-term success of the company itself. This shared ownership strengthens our commitment to excellence and ensures that Diani Building Corp. will continue to thrive for generations to come.
